Hi everyone just bought a jcb 3cx sitemaster for a job in my field and was just wandering if anyone on here has either owned one or worked on one so I can pick your brain about a couple of things.

The model I've got has a sight glass on the side of the tank for the hydraulic fluid.should the black line be all the way to the top I put 10 leaters in and it didn't move.the tank I'm told holds about 120 leathers.i have a small leak on a hose so want to keep top side of it till I can sort it.

Don't always rely on the sight glass and don't worry about the level too much always dip the tank. The early ones use 46 hydraulic fluid but its not critical on those early machines your leak is probably a hose that is starting to perish pirtek can make you up a new one don't go to jcb as their prices are stupidly high.
Cheers

Will the bolts in be metric or imperial.i took the bolts out of the radiator cover to clean and put new bolts in I thought they were 10mm but they wouldn't go in.i think it's a 1987 (e reg) so thought it would be metric but not sure.

They could be either more than likely at that time a lot of parts were outsourced from overseas and they can be a right jigsaw puzzle to put back together again.
