Taz had a day off yesterday, but I was working, so she nipped over to the workshop to visit the Charger. Haven't been for a couple of weeks. Being Saturday afternoon, there were no staff there, just John the shop owner, chatting to some of his mates. So Taz didn't get much chance to check progress with him. She dropped off a few parts that they needed -the dashboard, centre console etc. A package has arrived from Jack's Autos in the States containing all the trim & clips to fit the front & rear screens, plus another from "Beaver Bushes", (yeah, really), with all the suspension & steering bushes.
Look, it flies!
Taz's car's now off the body alignment jig where it's lived since it arrived at John's place, & up on a 2 post lift.

She's going back next week with a few more parts that the guys need to check alignment with, so will get a full progress report then. Great to see it solid enough to be lifted off the ground on the hoist now.

Virtually every panel you can see here has been replaced. It's basically a brand new bodyshell.

Grin Yup. It was only a quick visit cos John was just closing up for the weekend, but looks pretty good to me. At one time, if you'd lifted our car up like that, it would've just drooped over each end of the hoist!
I think they use that lift to get cars out of the way when they're not working on them -there's a Mini underneath it at the moment. So they've probably been waiting for the parts Taz took over -& some more cash, before carrying on.

Our spot in the corner of the workshop's now occupied by another Charger -common as muck ain't they. We chatted to the owner of this one at the Romsey Boxing Day classic meet. It's a '69 like Taz's. A recent American import "General Lee" replica, complete with CB radio & dashboard signed by John Schneider, (Bo Duke of the original Dukes of Hazzard TV series). The signed glove box lid has been carefully removed while the car's in for a bit of a tidy up -yeah, ours went in for "a bit of a tidy up"! Taz says NO, we're definitely NOT painting hers orange!

What else is in the shop? The little Fiat's had it's first top coat added & a few blemishes rubbed out. It's now very bright yellow. I kinda liked it in the white primer meself.

Horse power of a different kind.
On her way home, Taz passed the Surrey Hunt.

A fully built Charger weighs 2 1/2 tons -if I owned that Mini I'd be worried!
