Taz why not through a welding party at your lock up get all the welders of this site and there labourers put on a BBQ and some drinks have a Manky good party and let the fabricators loose on it I am sure there would be a lot of work done in that day and people could show their gratitude for this site plus get to meet and discuse their projects in person  Grin

Thanks guys. Texon although that is a great Idea I'm not sure my boss would agree. If we did do something like that I would have to make sure he was away for that week end.
I know what some are thinking and some have said about the work that is needed to get it back on the road and trust me if it had been an escort then I would have never even looked at it. But this is different. It's a 1969 dodge Charger and when it is done I'll be driving around in one of the best Mopar models that is out there. Chargers sell at prices that we could never afford. This was in our price bracket and It will at least be done and finnished how I want it. They don't come about very often so you have to grab the oportunity while you can.
I just want to get it home. Really itching to get it started.

Thanks guys. You are so right Ron.  Grin
Manky and I spent the day at Brooklands with Dave2lanes and the Mopar Muscle Association, (MMA). I'm now a lot more hopeful and optimistic than I was last night and am excited about getting the thing home so I/we can get started on it. We spoke to several people today and all were fantastic with plenty of advice and tips. Not one said we've done the wrong thing by buying it. In fact some said it was better as a couple of people weren't happy with some areas of their cars as they did not do it themselves and at least by doing it the way we are we will end up with a proper muscle car done exactly how we want it done.
Dave gave me a disc today with all the info we will need to get this thing on the road so that and the laptop will be going to work with me, (no internet unfortunatley).
Also I got to drive Dave's 440 Hemi Charger on the Brooklands historic banked track with Manky as my co-pilot. Ok we didn't get to floor it but had to line up for a photo shoot and Dave had paid for a Concord experience ticket so he couldn't drive it so I was forced to do it. What a shame  Grin

Anyway I'm very hopeful and really really looking forward to joining in with future Mopar events. As Derek said "It'll be yours next year"
Also Dave thinks I'm the first female member of the MMA to actually own and drive a Charger. How cool is that.  Grin

If its a labour of love, then it can never be too much work.
I'd rather build it up myself, then you know it's been done right, rather than trusting what somebody you dont know has said has been done.

The plan of action when we get it home is firstly to sort through all the bits and see what's there. Dave said he will help with this and we will make several piles. One for the engine, one for the runnig gear, one for interior, one for exterior, one for body panels etc then bit by bit we/I will sort through each pile. The first stage will be to remove all the paint currently on the car and see just how much filler there is. I've emailed a company in Cranley to see how much they would charge to do the A pillar and the rest we should be able to do ourselves. I will be learning very quickly how to weld properly as I want to be able to do some of it myself. Once the main body of the car is done then we will do things like the doors etc. The engine will be one of the last things we will do as it's pointless getting that built up with no car to put it in.
It's all in my head and I can't wait to get started.
I've decided on the colour I want it to be finnished in the same gray as the trike will be and the MMM logo on the doors but in black like what's on the T-shirts. Somewhere possibly in the back I will have Dukes of Tazzard as was sugested by Doc as I think that's brilliant.
