So I get home from work on friday night and discuss with Mrs Byzmax about changing my motor. See I have a Scorpio Estate which uses the petrol output of a small Arab nation on a weekly basis. I do all sorts of work from welding to general buiding stuff etc. So I say what I need is a LWB landrover to carry stuff in and it needs to be a diesel cos they are more efficient.

Switch on the computer and go to a well known auction site and type LWB Landrover.

Up comes many of the said machines. but the one on the top of the list with four minutes to go is a series 3 with an LPG conversion fitted. No MOT but just needs one of the out riggers welding/replacing and a couple of other plating bits on the chassis. Good condition on the bodywork and my index finger hit the button and I got it for £500.

Just got to get it from somewhere in wales!

Chuffed!

Just need an overdrive unit for it! Grin

Well done Byz.
Nice to see you back. Flap's just been fined 200 quid by the DVLA for having an untaxed vehicle on the road -he'd been planning to strip his Landrover down for a rebuild & hadn't gotten round to it in time. So we dismantled his fence & he drove the Landy up into his garden, where it's become a new climbing frame for his kids until he can afford the cost of the new galvanised chassis he plans to fit. After sitting, untouched at the kerbside, for 8 months, it fired up first time. Cool motors.  Smiley Have fun!
Oh, be careful though -PantherShaun lost the top of a finger while rebuilding his.

One of the Yorkshire Trikers has a galv chassis for a landy for sale.  It was a project he started but he now needs the garage cleared so he'll be open to offers.  It's actually on the landy (new chassis-rest of landy is original) but it's not fully built up.

If you wanna try to contact him, go on www.yorkshiretrikers.co.uk and put a call out for Flash (Tony)

Just a thought.
