its now Saturday night
Ive been to see my dad today hes still in hospital waiting for the MRI scan  Angry
the xrays he had two weeks ago showed he has spurs growing off his spine
and pressing onto his spinal cord
his specialist has gone mad at the radiologist and keeps requesting a MRI so they can see if the spurs are operable
apparently MRI is the only way to see the spurs and the damage they are causing

Sorry to hear that. Is there another hospital with an MRI scanner as the one he is in sounds rubbish. So what's their excuse as I thought it was happening Tuesday gone. Don't blame you being very p'd off mate.

I reckon you should start pushing - talk to his GP , his consultants, the nuses, etc and find out how you can speed it up - my mate neede an MRI scan on her brain (she's had lots of mini strokes) and was told she might have to wait 3 months!  As it happened it was only a couple of weeks because her consultant pushed it.

Trouble is, there just aren't enough scanners, in spite of the enormous amounts of money raised by the public AND the huge sums that have been ploughed into the NHS only to be wasted on managers and their cars, and fancy computer systems that don't work!

Ooops sorry, didn't mean to rant.  But I know from experience that when dealing with the NHS you have to keep fighting your corner, and I hope when me and Mike are too old to do it for ourselves, that our children will fight for us.

update
we have had the results of the MRI my dads back has collapsed and all the gaps between the joint have got smaller which mean he will not be able to walk again. He can just about make it to the loo with the aid of two crutches.
But thats it.They cant operate on him they say its too far gone plus his age is against him hes 71.He will hopefully be going home this Monday or Tuesday as they cant do anything more for him.
we have the social services coming out to see about adaptations for the house and some sort of care package. Like me he lives on his own so he will need somebody to come in and look after him
