Just got back from Aberystwyth hospital!! had a phone call @7pm from A+E informing us that our son had a bike crash, apparently a car pulled out on him, he's broke his rht ankle, rht wrist, and left elbow, they are operating on both wrist and elbow as these are quite complicated breaks, still he's alive Smiley and concious we'll be ringing in the morning then going back up there in time for when he comes out of the operations.

Sorry to hear that VB hope he gets well soon. He's very lucky that it wasn't worse. What are the police doing about the driver. Hopefully it will include an eye test.

Only just found this thread VB, so you're probably at the hospital now. Give him our best wishes for a speedy recovery please. Myopic car drivers are a fact of life I'm afraid. They just don't bother looking. Hope all goes well.

Hope all the ops went well and all will heal again. As for driver, an eye test is not what I'd recommend Lips Sealed

Thanks for all your kind words Smiley, they operated tuesday morning pin and plated the lft elbow then tension wire bound it, same again then for the rht wrist, both toped off atm with custom plaster ware.
These initialOperations were a success although both wrist and elbow will need further work 6-8 wks on.
Dan's not one for lying down and today was up and hobbling on his cast/walking foot, he musta done summut right as they may let him home tommorrow!! as he his he cant do anything really for himself so although it feels early after seeing the amount of damage he had done.
His main concern was that they try to shape the plaster cast of his arms so that he could still use a ps3/xbox remotes !!
Tuesday late afternoon consultants are thinking on re-doing the wrist...Dans well fed up atm.

Wednesday.today.. they have agreed to allow Dan to have the wrist done in Neville hall"closer to us" so its been re-plastered, we will bring him home Thursday, they have already arranged with Neville hall for Dan to be admitted monday/tuesday. he's not completely out of the woods but on the right track Smiley here's a pic of him"high as a kite" just before going to op.
