Baddons Trike

This is a June 06 B & I Engineering 3 seater 1600VW. It has been heavily modified since I got it with an all new FAT front end (180mm tire and 48mm forks;D) New longer light bar including speakers in light shells. 480W stereo system (2 speakers on front light bar and 2 in rear body work) with waterproof Remote RF controller on a bracket on bars (clips of for security) and a Cd stereo mounted under riders seat in a steel waterproof box. The top box was to my own design, as were the higher than stock seat backs and 3 point rear belts. I latter added the centre race harness for my two year old who loves nothing better then to be collected from nursery on the trike. Add in a show plate with my nickname and a few other bits and pieces.

I'm having gearbox changed next week while in England on business to a higher ratio one as currently I'm all out at 72, so on MW I use a lot of expensive stuff...

Expensive stuff? -you run it on champagne?
Probably cheaper actually.
Very tidy machine Baddon. It might be a factory build but you've put enough graft into it to make it your own. If you want to email us a slightly longer write up & some more pics, (including close ups of interesting details & a shot of you with it), we'll happily bung it in the Motors, 3 Wheels section of the site. Having recently taken over the reins a little more from Professor Yoda, creator & janitor of the site, we need all the practice we can get!

Baddon, how long you in our neck of the woods for? And what dates?

We jet off to Spain (wife's 40th) but brother in law is house sitting, so you could crash here?

Pm, email or give me a shout.  I know we'll be away but 'ma maison est votre maison' old chap.

My Sleeper is in the back yard.  You could take it on your way and sleep over at B & I if it helps.  Get in touch.

New risers on handlebars to bring them nearer to me by 2" (myarms were being pulled out and on corners I could Only pull one side so was always sore in sholders after a decent ride)  DONE and its like someone fitted power steering while I was not looking Cool

New longer light bar with additional mounts for two more headlights.

New stero system including the following:-
1 Sony Head unit with single CD with MP3 input and capable of playing MP-Cd's (more storage up to 10 Cd worth)
4 Waterpfoof Marine AV speakers suposedly 5" but barely fitting inside a 6" bates headlight Huh some modification (read butchering) needed to get to fit.
1 aireal for boats (no sticky out ariel stalk)
1 waterproof RF remote for stero designed for Jetskies so no wiring and no line of sight required and no problem with wet, rain etc.
2 Nr 6" bates head lights to match the ones on my front light bar to house two of the new speakers.
1 Can of black multi surface pait to paint speakers as they are boat fiberglass cream at moment but are designed to be painted.

2 New rear mudguards as original ones had damage when the fiberglass broke and light unit fell out and swung around to mark the fiberglass.

New gear linkage bushings to see if I can get 2nd gear without ending up in Reverse or 4th by mistake.

I will post photos as I go so you can all see how I get on botching it up and having to do it again and again Huh

Modifying speakers to get them to fit into Headlamps

New headlamp with guts removed to show the empth shell
http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/8386/1001227sa5.jpg
Baddons Trike

As you can see the speaker just does not fit inside the shell, so a little modification is required!!
http://img100.imageshack.us/img100/7955/1001228ui4.jpg
Baddons Trike

This shows in true Blue Peter Style one I prepared earlier to show how much shoulder had to be removed to allow the speaker to slip inside the shell most of the way so the lid can close and leave the speaker held firmly in place.

http://img100.imageshack.us/img100/7465/1001229lj6.jpg
Baddons Trike

This is how I did the butchering, I turned the speaker against the grinder disc to remove the shoulder.
