We had a few problems, starting first thing with Flaps trike not starting flat battery just needing a push to get it going. then on the way back Si trike started pushing out water got back to Basingstoke, his head gasket blew, and my trike is not well, for some reason it is pressurising pushing the oil out through the distributer. So a few late nights for me.
So if any one else tells me that reliants are reliable they are going to have a sore nose Angry.

Sorry to hear you had so many problems. Bet you wish you never got Flaps going now though  Wink
Spose I'd better say it. Well done Flap.

You buggers! The Three Triketeers sneaked off to a show & never invited us!
Yeah, much as it pains me to say it, well done Mr Flap.
Hmm, blown head gasket? Well Si does ride his trike pretty hard. Fortunately not a huge job to fix, just a pain in the bum. Maybe just needs to curb his riding style a little -it is only a 40bhp Reliant after all. Based on the Austin 7 engine design so it's really not meant for sports bike style riding.
Any ideas on your pressurisation Nige? Not holed a piston? Popped a valve stem seal? You put a breather in the ally rocker cover you had from me didn't you? No problems before you fitted that? Maybe start there.
So you all managed to limp home without needing break down assistance? That's always a bonus. Apart from the engine probs, how was the ride? Weather was great for a trike convoy wasn't it? Did you stop off for tea & cakes on the way? Motorway all the way or nice twisty A roads? Show held at a pub? Nice crowd? Music? Food? Any decent customs there? How much trikey competition did you have?
C'mon, we need a quick write up & more photos!

As Nige said my trike was a non starter but a short push got it going. It hasn't been used for several weeks so it can be forgiven for having a bit of a flat battery.
The plan was to head out through Guilford and a long the A25 to Maidstone and then to Sittingbourne to the Chrome & Cruisers show that was being held at the Central Park Stadium in Sittingbourne.
We headed out and stopped for a stretch and a smoke the other side of Guilford. Simon's trike was running a bit rough at low speed so we decided to get on the M25 and do the rest of the journey on the motorway. Just as we got going again my speedo inner cable snapped, it had only lasted 1002 miles.
We met up with Mick who was on his stealth trike outside Sittingbourne and headed of to the show.
There was some confusion when we got there as there was no sign posts to say the show was on or where exactly it was, we went to where we thought it was and there was 20 or so bikes riding around a car park looking confused so we went to have a look up the road joined by a couple of Harley's. We found we were in the right place to start with and by the time we got back there one of the organisers was at the entrance directing people around the side of the building to where the show was being held.
We parked up between some bikes and a photographer from the Kent paper asked me if he could take some photos of me on me trike, of course I had to oblige him, apparently he never asked the others for their pictures, oh well  Grin
This wasn't a huge show maybe 12 trikes 40 or so bikes and quite a few hot rods and muscle cars. Some trade stands and a burger van.
I was speaking to one of the organisers and he was saying this was the first show they had done there and the local council would not allow them to put up signs, directions or anything that let you know the show was on, Maybe a lot of people couldn't find it.
In the end though it was a good show made even better when a man came up to me telling me I'd one best trike, although he said it was a choice between mine and nige's.  Tongue  Simon had to carry my trophy home for me as he was the only one with a bag, he recons that the extra weight he was carrying was the cause of his head gasket blowing, I told him it will be the only time he gets to carry a trophy home.  Tongue
It was a nice long run with the sun shining and we all made it back without the aid of the RAC.

Nice one Mr Flap. Hopefully Ska Man's got some more photos & we can make up a Gallery then add your write up to it.
Which newspaper was it that took your picture? You could go to their website & download it. I've been waiting for photos & words on Mick's stealth trike for over a year now. Still waiting  Sad
Not a bad turnout for a first show. So you going back next year?

The mistake the organisers made was asking the council in the first place!

Combined car & bike shows seem to be the new thing. Quite a few going on this year. I'm gonna have to put a trike tow hitch on the Pop so I can take both of them to shows next year.

But has been handy this year as we got in free to the Pageant of motoring  Grin
We could end up putting a tow hitch on my car too so we can take 2 cars and 2 trikes to the shows.

That's very tidy Bobbi. Yours?
It'd have to be much lower to the ground for our trikes, otherwise the tail end would drag along the road, (not a lot of ground clearance). My brother, Brock, made a towbar that clamps around the fork legs. Flap owns it now. I tried it on mine & ended up putting a small ding in the top of the front mudguard. Think it depends how low the towball on the car is.
Never been sure of the best way to tow a trike, but clamping the fork tubes just doesn't seem right to me somehow.
