In the very near future I will be removing the engine from my trike and it will be up for sale.

She is in perfectly good order and is only being replaced as I have had a deal on a new and different engine that I would have been mental to pass up.
I plan to be removing the engine from my trike between the beginning and middle of july. I will let you know as soon as I have a firm date for taking it out but I wanted to put it up here so that if anyone is planning a project and looking for an engine they could let me know if they are interested. This will give you pretty much all you need to get a project going or finished.

So for sale is:

Reliant 850 engine with gearbox, carb and 4 branch exhaust

Fitted to engine:
New water pump,
New alternator,
New fuel pump,
New timing belt tensioner,
New timing cover oil seal,

New spark plugs,

It will also come with ever spare that I have for it including:

A rocker cover,
Standard distributer,
A reliant radiator,
Complete carb,
Two different air filters,
New oil filter,
New sump gasket,
New tappet screws,
New tappet nuts,

The complete trike cost quite a bit more.

Maybe you could buy a whole reliant for that money but you would have all the work to rip it apart and try to get rid of the bits you don't want or need.
You also wouldn't know the state of the engine.

Where as with this engine you would now know it is a good runner.
You can see from the list of new parts that i have had to put on it to get it running right the hassle you can have of buying an unknown engine.

With this engine you will now know, and could follow through my thread if you wanted to see, that everything has been now been done right and that the correct and new parts have now been fitted.
Thats before you even get to the list of spares that will go with it.

This is now a good running engine.
Feel free to asking many MMM members that have seen it running and on the road.

Like the ad says people can make me an offer and we might work it out. If not it will go to ebay.
Have a look on there for what people are asking for reliant lumps in much worse state and even without all the parts for them to run.

If you'd like to buy it now spanners I could get some shipping costs for you?

Saw your trike at the Basingstoke festival. Nice trike. Engine and box got to be worth that or more.
Best of luck with your engine change mate. Sure it'll be fine.

Speaking from experience  Roll Eyes of all the wonga Ive spent on wasted engines in my trike,Id say fair price for a 'sorted' powerplant I reckon, especially that all the work is noted on this site for all to see before committing.

My woman up and left me happy day xx but the bitter !!! Um person took the satalite dish that's mean ...... No woman no sky
Also I sold a 3 wheeled motor propelled vehicle blue it was the new owner has 2 legs and altered the heck out of it to suite his clinical needs ....... No trike don't cry lol but he always rings me up to ask if I mind ?
The ex woman has a new owner so does the trike and on both counts I'm un bias to the decisions the new owners make tho he did earn 75p on the sale of 2 indicator bulbs when he upgraded to led lamps
Am I bitter ? Nooooooo
Just like women build a new one and mot it then ride it till it bleeds xx good luck twisted

Craig I think you did well getting your trike on the road. As you said yourself this was the first time that you had done anything like this. You invested a lot of time, energy and money to finish the trike and make it your own.Well done!
What you don't need is to have comments like that posted by a mean spirited, small minded, childish, buffoon.
So what is the new engine.
