Title: BMW M3 AC Schnitzer Cabrio
Post by: Simple Simon on May 30, 2009, 12:13:40 PM
My brothers M3 has just failed it's MOT and he needs to sell, I will post more details as soon as he e-mails the details over.

As far as I know it will take a bit of work to put back on the road but the bodywork, roof, interior and engine are all in good nick.

It is ideal for spares or repair or if you have room maybe strip for parts to fund your impending project (mmm M3 trike!!!!! ;D)

Yeah, it's all the computery wizziness of modern motors that kills any chance of using them in anything home brewed isn't it. They're just not designed to be worked on in your shed. I'll stick with me 50 year old car & 30 year old engine I think.

Be interesting to know what it failed on and if it is a Schnitzerd one then it's the dogs danglies. Insurance is a killer on M3's. I looked at an old one at the same time I looked at the modern blue one that I eventually bought. I didn't go for the M3 as it was old technoligy so the modern 3.0 easily kept up with the old M3 3.2, (trust me I know  ;) ;D ) The insurance was under £500 for my 330 clubsport compared to over £1000 for the old M3.

Get some more info and photos of it Simon.

No dont!!  :D
A good friend of mine had an 'old' M3 pushing over 400bhp with only simple(ish) mods, destroyed modern 3.0 and M3s as its so much lighter. Just like a mates 325 turbo drift car!!  :o

Didnt take the roof down as it was raining :(
My sisters boyfriend is having the car, being in the trade he can get parts at trade price and he has the space and time to bring it back to roadworthy condition, my sis says it will be her new car (I think she wont be able to handle it personally (thats not because shes a girl Taz, its just she has never driven anything with anywhere near the power this thing has got)). Maybe I should get her insured? what do you think?? ;D

Not being a fan of "prestige performance" cars, (just seem chavvy & tacky to me), I actually prefer the Reliant on your driveway. Far more street cred!

At the Reliant or the Beemer?! Worth hanging onto the body shell as long as you can just for that!
