I've had my little GT550 up to 90!  And the only reason it won't go faster than that is the gearing of the axle.

The August 2013 BUB event, the entry list for FIM World Record Entries had only the following three wheelers.

Have a wee read at the following extracted translation from the French site at

http://www.lestriplettesdebonneville.com/Pages/Projets/projet2008.aspx

Quote
2009 ...

The Adventures of Triplets told by the menu. You 've always dreamed of is here !

The team has a tendency to keep in mind what she will do next time, so the story will be told in reverse chronological order . A bit like the blog , in fact, but shorter ! History you do not have to read everything from the beginning .
Although it would not hurt you ...
Project 2010

The 2009 project

The 2008 project

-
2010 ...
As expected , the third component of the project is even more ambitious than the previous two. Gilles , Jean , Yann and Frank began construction of a machine , Saline Burner, designed to run in both the categories and lakester streamliner .
At Bonneville, the queen category is streamliners . No limit is the imagination rein competitors, the layout and the number of wheels are free ... as long as there is at least four . As for lakesters , the only rule requires having non faired wheels.
In 2010, Saline Burner is engaged in streamliner .

Compressed air ! ... Yeah, why? ...

During the winter, Triplets signed a partnership with MDI in the person well-known Negro Guy . The idea of the team was to use a non-polluting engines, the air motor is the propellant dreamed . Especially since it requires no air or for admission or for cooling. It will be much less aerodynamic handicaps .

Our foursome quickly the idea of involving a design school in the project. The machine will indeed be carrying several concepts. They cater naturally to ISD ( Institut Supérieur de Design) Valenciennes , and the school immediately shows very interested .
The specification is simple. This will show the difference as French . The body should not be an nth variation of what is done on site , on the contrary. Finally, the alternative engine of the vehicle will be highlighted.
At the opening of the ISD in September 2009 , the project is subject to the students and , unusually , two teams are candidates . In late October, the Triplets meet for the first time students in order to enable them to fully understand the context of Speed Week and its unusual rules. This is an opportunity to get to know , but also to review the specifications .

Mid-November, for RP1 (Journal of Project 1 ) , students present their work first . Then comes the RP2 early January, during which each team has several lines of work , sometimes favoring the technique , sometimes eccentric , sometimes pure aesthetics. And already , the visuals presented by the students say a lot about the work .

It was during the RP2 that the choice is made as to each project team will develop. The last step takes place in mid -February. The RP3 then sees each team submit its final draft to the team , and especially the plans of the famous body . The Triplets make a choice , cruel, between the two projects . The four friends then return to Valenciennes with 3D visuals breathtaking , but also the model 1/5 of the body. Designed by students and built by V2P Concept , a company Valenciennes , this model expo could also be used for wind tunnel testing .
This will ensure that it is as effective on the aerodynamic than successful on the aesthetic plane. There will be more to do the same in general .

Bon ben Daniel , there's been only ! ...

In Triplets , the strong man of the chassis is Daniel, who has already contributed significantly to success in 2008 and 2009. While the students of ISD planchaient on their paper and their computers , Daniel released the cutter and welder . And it did not take long ! ...
Tubes 3mm 40 " canvas " around the driver to standards SCTA front wheels in tandem, lane width 60 cm at the back , more than 6 meters long, the frame Saline Burner is beautiful .

On March 24 , the first session running takes place on the airfield at Melun -Villaroche . No harm will come of adventures enamel day , but the air motor will hear his voice. His voice loud, clear ... and fresh. The engine exhaust outlet is at a temperature of 18 ° below zero, the team intends to use in cooling the cabin overheated by the sun of Utah.
Two other test sessions will follow, April 7 and May 26 that will , in bulk, to retest Saline Burner , test the stroller with the Dodge up to approximately 140 km / h , roll Mrs. Saline and that Saline Warrior and his new 1000cc . And everything works !

Between the last two sessions , the chassis has been completely disassembled, finished on the last weld reinforcement hoop , and shipped with ... turquoise paint . Then everything is reassembled. In parallel, large interior trim work for Saline Warrior to separate the cabin into two , 1/3 for the driver and 2/3 for the engine, while aluminum sheets.
From May 10 to June 2 , on the basis of couples drawn to scale 1 , and carved from foam insulation, body Saline Burner is completely handmade by the team. Whereupon she became head of the paint booth Michel .
On June 24 , the container leaving for Long Beach is charged in two hours, with Warrior Saline , Saline Contender , Saline Madam, all the tools and equipment, and pilot outfits. Only Saline Burner there is not, it will leave later New York. The chassis of the streamliner makes a nice detour to its engines and cylinders are resettled on board at MDI after the final amendments .

The air system is now totally split , each engine has its own circuit. We will see that the idea is ... good .
Then John goes without engines , who will go hand in hand with their parts .

The team did not find funding for a real aero study , Michel Leone Elmex concocts a telemetry he has the secret , and whose role is to detect any shedding nose Saline Burner. Shedding could be very dangerous at high speeds.
All the elements are gathered in bouclard ( the 34), the final assembly (excluding engines) is done, and Saline Burner out of the basement July 20 at 5:00 in the morning, after a sleepless night . Berny even came to lend a hand until 2.00am . At 7:00 , the load on the trailer the team is complete, and Gilles , Jean and Frank take the road to Le Havre . Check in at 12:00, just in time for the implementation container.
Saline Burner and compressor will be faster sea to New York, where they will be received by Shiva and Mike , two U.S. contacts MDI. Upon arrival, the trailer is loaded directly into a Penske rental truck , and go for a ride New York Wendover by road.

Meanwhile, in France , quick little hook in the ch'nord at David , V2P Concept , to make a bubble that is transparent , because the first is not enough , because of casting defects . And as we have to finish the airbox of the Reliant Suzuki , suitcases of Triplets are not really empty this year either.
In the meantime , the container arrived in Long Beach , and was seized by U.S. Customs to be emptied and examined. The crate engine is also blocked on his side, then that is J -8 first race day. Contact is made with the SCTA to try to bring in , but nothing is possible. Fortunately, a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army then offers his services as a mediator.
Even Stand21 is in their boost, and a combination of parts ready to Triplets !

Ah well if it were easy , it's not ! ...

Takeoff Roissy early August, the team was big on potato : the body of the engine has been cleared , but the container is still blocked . Plan B is developed during the flight, with the purchase of a helmet , equipment and tools missing .
But on arrival in LA, Fabs bears good news. Customs released the container. After payment of fees , trailer loaned by DBK ( club Cox California ) is loaded with all the contents of the container. And it's off in convoy through to Wendover , Nevada. Mike and Shiva , they arrive at Wendover from New York, with Saline Burner.
Gege , Corinne and Demonio are also in town . They are in the United States for two weeks , driving the pickup that will become the car push the streamliner . This little world is moving towards the lake and it is setting up camp . Two RVs ( motorhomes in French ) , the enclosed trailer that serves discount for tooling and parts, which will push Kombi van in Saline Warrior , the trailer Kombi, the pickup Gege , Saline Warrior Saline Burner, Saline Saline Contender and Mrs . Everyone is there, you can fly both French flags .

Corinne began the week riding Saline Madam, the French brand motorcycle Gnome & Rhone 125cc 1950 under the number B -1255 race ( B Bike) . 14 ( run down ) and 15 August (return run) , Corinne beats the record of the Modified / Vintage Gas 125cc class.
John takes over the handlebars of Saline Contender , the holder of six records at Bonneville Moped . The bike , as it is considered as at Bonneville is committed Special Construction Partial Streamlined Vintage Gas 50cc .
The run down of John is not enough, the record is up to 57,882 mph . It belongs to ... Jean on Saline Contender since August 2009 ! Given the magnitude of the changes to be made on the streamliner for technical inspections , the team decided to postpone the maximum force on this point, as John did not he continued his efforts on Moped .

Gilles made his run down with Saline Warrior , the English car brand Reliant Motor Suzuki GSX -R 1000cc , Class I ( letter representing the displacement class from 750 to 1000cc ) Gas Competition Coupe , as race number 4991 . Gilles is immediately 10 km / h faster than the record .
Unfortunately, the output of the engine breaks down run . Gilles is qualified to run the day after his return , but it is not possible to repair the engine ( valve destroyed and damaged especially head ) in the time of 4:00 .

With the help of Corinne , Fred modifies motorcycle Corinne to be able to run in Modified Partial Streamlined Vintage 125cc Gas , whereupon Fred rolls with number B -1258 , beating 17 and 18, the record of this class. Then they re-register the bike Vintage Modified Partial Streamlined Fuel 125cc class in which Corinne rolls 19 and 20 August, with the race number B -1258 , including beating the record again .

Meanwhile, the team is working on Saline Burner, the streamliner compressed air. The machine is accepted at inspection on 19 and Frank share the track as the race number 499, Omega Streamliner class. He made a first test run , during which he was forced to stop on the track due to a big problem of visibility. Decision is made to run without the door of the cockpit.
Frank returns to the starting line for the run down . Due to a mechanical problem ( the first transmission , which then damages the right engine ) , the average speed on the mile is fairly low , but sufficient, since the class was "open" , that is to say no record does not already exist .
It is too late to remain in the impound , since it is 20:00, at which time competitors must leave the lake. Officials allow the team to remain exceptionally for one hour under the supervision of a commissioner to begin a diagnosis by phone with Guy Negro , head of MDI.

Too strong !

Following the morning during the remaining three hours to try to fix it. However, the second motor is too damaged by the failure of the transmission. The latter is rehabilitation and the pressure pushing up to only turn on the only remaining good engine air.
With the help of a T-shirt Lucky offered by Steve Davies, the chief inspector as Frank makes his return run , and set the class record within two hours of the closing track , which will be held in 12:30 ! The team returned in the cheers of the spectators and all the technical staff SCTA .
But in reality , the team added a fifth record in the 2011 report , as the drivers drove with Wrist V6 Bonneville BRM watch "special Triplets " who is above all the world 's lightest automatic watch.

All equipment is packed , especially John and Mike still have work to do : bring Saline Burner in New York. 4400 km in 4 days, still Penske truck , while the rest of the team returned to Los Angeles. Not recovered without additional streamliner , entrusted to care Bonx Fabs , and must also return to Europe in container Vintage Autohaus USA .
Saline Burner sets sail for a voyage of 10 days, and returned to Havre late September.
It must be exposed on the stand of the ISD at the Paris Motor Show 2010 !
Problem , the French customs officers are on strike ... Fortunately, everything is released at time
and it is J -1 Jean recover from the baby Havre company Phiphi ,
and found Frank to reassemble everything and install three hours of the opening of the show !

And after ? ...

But the period of the World also corresponds to the return to ISD . Luckily, this is an opportunity for Triplets to resume habits . They launch with two teams of students their 2011 project , the bike compressed air. The motorcycle , whose name remains to be determined , leave at Bonneville in the company of Saline Burner, both devices are equipped with MDI engines.
And with the added bonus of a surprise to discover soon following the adventures of the team on the blog ! ...

2009 ...
Drive Simone !

Back in 2008 , the team attack the machine 2009. Saline Warrior is the foundation of the whole project . It is a Reliant popular small car English three-wheeled dragster turned into a TV show for the BBC in 2003.
Additional changes to Bonneville will be important , including the creation of a full roll cage , or duplication of the front wheel to run in the car category. After some hesitation, the venerable 850 original which had been grafted on a turbo, gives way to a Suzuki GSX -R 750 , a motorcycle engine .
The engine is provided by Kris , KMP boss who decides to accompany the team to Bonneville .

Meanwhile , enrollment has also grown as Bernard , a photographer fell in love pro team and his adventure , joined the team: "You are too barges guys, I want to come with you in 2009." He and Gege , a cameraman , will travel and T- Fabs and Kiki , U.S. correspondents import Vintage Autohaus box .
And leaves to be numerous , so equip . Saline Contender back in service with the secret hope to surpass the 100 km / h grazed in 2008. And a little new emerged . Salt Pepper, a Monet- Goyon 1935 , was entrusted to the care of the team by a member of the club brand . Mission: the back with a trophy.
It only needed a blessing to all that is done in March 2009. Yvan the Bolloc'h , attracted and amused by their delusions , became the sponsor in 2009 of The Triplets of Bonneville !

A big test Melun- Villaroche session to check the potential of Saline Warrior despite become too short track. The record for the category Competition Coupe 750 , 134 miles per hour ( about 217 km / h) seems attainable .
Mid-June , the three machines are the way to Havre , then arrive at the Port of Long Beach, California, in July. The team landed early August in Los Angeles and met Fabien and Kiki " in the flesh ."

After coupling the trailer to rent on site campers , all these people hit the road . On the menu for 1200 km through Nevada in convoy, and join the Salt Lake.
The material just unwrapped , it does not drag , as John begins the series with the moped , followed by Frank on Monet- Goyon . Two records later, they pass the handlebars Yann ( best run of 98.4 km / h) and Gilles, who double up . Surprise for Kris , the team asked him to drive Saline Pepper and establishes the fifth record , without firing a shot . This is also the slowest record of Speed Week . Three records just for the small motorcycle club Monet- Goyon is filled !

Meanwhile, the preparation work on Saline Warrior in full swing. This is the complete installation of the security delivered to the site before moving the car at scrutineering . The rules are very demanding , and particularly vigilant when controllers is a new vehicle.
But as with the Mob ' in 2008 , the stage is successfully passed, again with the official congratulations to the rigor of the work .

"They broke five records ... and one engine ! " .

The first two runs are linked in the aftermath, in increments of speed. The next day, Gilles made his first run "for real" , and the input record 8 mph or 13 km / h approach. But Suzuki , though renowned for its flawless reliability , do not stand in the fourth run .
" We probably too isolated to the engine due to fire regulations , says Frank , we would listen to the advice of Kris ." In short, the craft that goes ... So self Sharper return for 2010. As says Doug Robinson, controller SCTA " they farted five records ... and an engine ."

s ".

It's hard to get high speed at the salt flats due to the thin atmosphere due to high elevation amongst other things
