Originally from light trucks etc, this one has been narrowed to about 32" and had different ends fitted so that we can run the bearings on the outside of the tubes and use a "floating" hub set, it means that if a shaft breaks the hub stays attached. The big brace across the back is also added. 9" refers to ring gear size, there are others that will do the job but the 9" has far more aftermarket parts and gear sets available.
