Title: Using your vehicles for film
Post by: workingcars on March 07, 2008, 02:15:06 PM
Hi guys,

We're looking for vehicles to use for films. We run a small business supplying vehicles for use in films and are currently working on expanding our database. If you are interested in listing your vehicle with us then please contact me.

Many Thanks,

Jon

Depends on what it's worth and if you can supply a vehicle to take it's place, so I can get to work.

What happens if they get broken most of these bikes and trikes are one offs, built by hand and priceless, not mass produced and easy to get spares for.

Welcome.

I agree with you Twisted.

So Mr Workingcars do you have any vehicles that you can share with us on here or are you just touting for business? Normally we like to get to know people first and share stories before jumping straight in with both feet.

I saw the post in the 'wanted' section before I saw this thread, I've emailed Workingcars to ask whether it would be driven by the owner or by someone else - not sure I'd trust anyone else with Doris (the Maestro) as damaged panels would be a disaster, you can't get them now.

Hi guys,

We negotiate each job with you at the time and we make everything clear for you so you understand what is required for that shoot. At the moment a lot of shoots are statics so there is little chance for anything to get damaged.

At this stage all i would like from you is photos and permission to use your vehicle on our website if you are interested.

Please feel free to contact me if you require any more information.

Many Thanks,

Jon

I think Two Lanes has done some photo-shoot work in the past. Might be worth checking with him if you're interested in this.

These people are out of order,

I sent them an email with a pic of my trike and asked for more info.
They got back to me with brief details and asked me to send them a reply if I wanted to have them tout my trike about for film work.
I didn't, I wasn't happy with the information in the reply so imagine my surprise when it appeared on their website. The last agency I worked with actually had a contract with me and all the terms of use were agreed before they used any pictures of any of my bikes or myself.

Any agency should have contracts with terms and rates in place before they start touting you or your stuff about.I do not have a written agreement with this company and for them to use images of my trike is out of order, even if I sent them the image myself. I was making an enquiry, not giving them permission to use the image.

The pics they have are of the unfinished project, I actually told them it wasn't quiet done yet but they used the pics anyway

I asked for it to be removed and was told it would be.
Still on the site advertising their business despite a phone call or two and an email asking for it to be removed from the site.

By my reconing it's been on 4 days at £200-00 a day so they already owe me £800-00.
If they want to use my trike for anything they should have gotten my permission and they haven't, they should also have offered to sign my trike onto their books and agreed terms, they haven't.

I did ask nicely in a private manner when I rang them, been ignored so hopefully they may take notice of this very public request.

Take my trike off your website please, today, or pay the advertising fee, I normally charge £ 1200 for any advertising work for one offs or £200-00 per day for promotional work.

Well at least your problems have made up my mind for me - was thinking of offering both the trike and the Maestro but I think I'll leave well alone!
