Title: Re: a quick hello Post by: Basket case on March 06, 2008, 10:03:35 PM Sounds good to me :) I really am blown away with how much content you've got here...its stunning. I guess we almost met at the Berkshire Triumph doo in '07...I was admiring 2 very nice lowrider reliant trikes and remember one of them getting an award 8)

Always nice to see people come back again. That seems to be the way it goes -they wander in, either by word of mouth or after chatting to us at an event somewhere, stay for a while then disappear. Eventually they'll come back, usually to tell us they've spent the last couple of months building something in their sheds. ;D South London eh? Ever get out to Boxhill or Newlands Corner? We live just down the road in West Clandon, so you're very welcome to drop by for a cuppa if you're passing. Welcome to the site Sir. :) Title: Re: a quick hello Post by: VALLEYSBOY on March 07, 2008, 12:06:30 AM dont go for the cuppa m8 he'll ave u digging out the footing for the sheds

Welcome to the site Sir. :) Hiya....I used to virtually live at Boxhill as a bike obsessed youth. Fri night-backwards and forwards-to 'The Bridge'-'Heston'-and back to 'the Hill'-till sunday night :) Spent many a misty morning waiting for the tea caravan to open... Still enjoy a sunny afternoon down there with a cuppa and a burger. Never been to Newlands corner but it dont sound far away, so I'll have to get on down. And will pop in for a cuppa, ta :) AS Title: Re: a quick hello Post by: Basket case on March 07, 2008, 12:25:22 AM welcome m8e have fun Cheers...looks like your right stuck into doing your trike..great thread :) AS Still got the 2 trikes...2 seater V8 and a 3 seater 1.0 auto micra.. both need dusting off and a lil bit of fiddling :) AS what you running these days? trying to remember..you had 2 i think when i was reading up on it over at BC some tme ago now...but there again my minds been known to feck things up before :) Title: Re: a quick hello Post by: tazet on March 07, 2008, 06:38:01 PM So where is the write up for the Micra trike then ;D ;) Providing we can do a banner we should hopefully have your "Monster" on later this evening.
Title: Re: a quick hello Post by: Manky Monkey on March 07, 2008, 11:36:37 PM Monster now added to the Trikes, 3 wheels section of the main site. Many thanks for sending in the info Bazza.
As Taz said, where's the write up on the Micra trike then eh? ;D Title: Re: a quick hello Post by: Basket case on March 08, 2008, 05:04:13 AM hehe...s'funny....I feel totally different about the Micra. Even though I did ALL the work myself (with a few helpful hands)..,adapting it from how I got it to riding with only hand controls swapping and fitting a new M/C for the front brake on the left bar and disconnecting the rear foot brake and fitting to a M/C on the right bar (opposite to the Monster) ,fitting a new 'super slippy' throttle cable made up by Venhill for me coz it was too stiff to be smooth, moving the front seat back by welding new brackets and re-wiring the fusebox behind the seat to a box now in front...buggered about with alsorts of adjustments and that... Im guessing it might be down to time and emotional energy..? The Monster took loads of moving organising, loads of different people and LOADS (too much :) ) of time. The Micras work only took
about 2 weeks of what seemed like light work...It dont feel like Ive REALLY put anything into it yet...not properly. Ive got plans, with big wide sweeping back cowhorn bars sitting in the corner and I have welded on 2 brackets that my wheelchair wheels slot into with a rack for the rest in my head...I also have a new rad and fan for it, intending to double the rads up coz it dont like sitting in traffic...when Ive done more and probably done what I got it for (taking my 6yo daughter out, legally)..then I could maybe do a write up. Howabout just a few photos for now...? AS :) Title: Re: a quick hello Post by: tazet on March 08, 2008, 06:37:19 AM yes please. Why don't you start a thread for it, then you can update us on it as it goes. ;D
Title: Re: a quick hello Post by: Manky Monkey on March 08, 2008, 02:33:15 PM We get a lot of favourable comments, saying how useful these build threads are. What seems blindingly obvious to you may be the very information someone else is looking for. They're a good way of kicking ideas around & maybe spotting potential problems before anything gets committed to metal. We may even inspire a few readers to get building.
You'll never be lonely in the shed again -the whole forum will be peering over your shoulder & saying "What does that bit do?" ;D Bazza, you obviously know your stuff -we're always looking for more techy stuff. If you get bored in the shed you could always write us a couple of articles on some of the work you've already done -how to convert a standard bike or trike to hand controls, basic carb tuning, hints & tips for simple vehicle wiring, that kinda thing. Title: Re: a quick hello Post by: trikerpete on March 08, 2008, 05:52:48 PM Hi Bazza, welcome back...you should have stayed with us the first time ;) 8)
Title: Re: a quick hello Post by: Basket case on March 08, 2008, 08:07:24 PM yes please. Why don't you start a thread for it, then you can update us on it as it goes. ;D Thats a great idea... I'll dig out some pictures and start getting some words down soon... :) And Manky, I'll have a think if can come up with anything that might be usefull..... AS :) |
