Title: Jag coupe thing
Post by: Manky Monkey on March 03, 2008, 11:58:07 AM
Dave-Postie & I spotted this in the carpark of the NSRA swapmeet over the weekend.
What's going on here then? What twisted imagination conceived this?
Looks like an old mark 2 Jaguar, (think Inspector Morse's car), with the rear window fitted as a front screen & home-made soft top.

Rear doors have presumably been welded up. There's a huge bonnet scoop, but also side vents as well as grilles on the extended bootlid. Does that mean it's rear engined?
Imaginative, but very odd. :)

that could have turned out soooo coool, but i think the builder was in modify everything mode, apart from the screen which imo is horrid,if it was'nt all scoops and bonnet gubbins i think it would bee good,10-10 effort,2-10 taste,20-10 imagination/drug intake  ;D

Anyone remember John Steed's gorgeous XJ12C Jag in The New Avengers?

The TV car was, of course, a road-going replica of the Jaguar XJ12C racers developed by Broadspeed for British Leyland between 1976-1978.

The whole car looks back to front!  Wonder if he races it?
