Spotted this one on Ebay this morning. Might make an interesting project. I immediately thought trike, rather than bike.
A 1000cc Fiat Uno engine hooked up to a Cossack/Ural/Dnieper gearbox. With Reliant engines now in short supply, maybe this could be the alternative?
7 days to go, but a mere 50 quid at the moment -including the bench it's strapped to.  Smiley

Andy,Funny you should mention the lack of reliant engines,
the 750 club are now using fiat punto engines in what was basically the reliant class.

In fairness, i aint been into trikes for about ten years, but i did fancy building one with the Fiat 500 twin, they aint too bad a looking motor, and they make em go like stink these days..

Also the turbo'd smart car engine might be fun

Dunno about the Fiat Uno but I used to have a Fiat 127 and it was sheer hell getting parts cos they never listed the part nos and the only way to get parts from Fiat was to take the old part in and say "I want one like this" when they would order it from Italy and it would take about 5 weeks to arrive if you were very lucky!

I know they have been using the reliant gearbox with the punto engine,in the race car.

Had an Uno for a few months they go like stink fully loaded with tools and two adults could touch an indicated ton with ease.

There ya go then. I know we've talked about these here before -they're known as "Fire" engines -but I haven't seriously looked at them as a trike powerplant before.
Here's a basic engine block on Ebay for 45 quid.

Ebay Uno

Small enough & light enough for a Manky style single seater trike I reckon -with more power as standard. Interesting.

Rhino trikes produced a trike using a Citroen 2CV engine mated to a cossack box
