I`m still sulking after putting a very respectable bid on an M type.
The lathe in question was one of the first M types produced by Drummond Bros and only had a production run of 4 years (1921 - 1924 for those that wish to know), making the one on ebay a rare old item.
During conversations with the seller, it appeared that there was little interest in his merchandise so I thought I was in with a good chance of winning it.......only to be outbid in the final 10 seconds. A once in a lifetime purchase snatched away from me
Missed two lathes off ebay i had to have
A very nice Henry Milnes lathe quite local to me, missed it by 33 seconds when i got back home latter than i planned.
And worse of all a cone head Hendy 1230 to match my gearhead 1230 was tidy had face plate two chuxks and a bit of tooling it was at 50 quid, it got to 10 seconds i bid 60 thinking i did not need to bid anymore it went on the time for 65. 01 and 3 bids
There will never be another come up on ebay and i blew my chance.
