Sometime last week , my wife asked me if I knew of a blacksmith? cos a friend of hers needed something made.
So, I told her to send them round, thinking if it was just a bit of welding I might be able to help them. Well she and her husband turned up at my workshop on Tuesday with an old shutter hinge. It tuned out that they needed 6 pairs and they couldn't find anything like them anywhere!
So off we trolled to one of my barns and leaning up against the wall were half a dozen old wooden shutters that I had "Rescued" from one of my weekly trips to the Tip
As luck would have it the hinges on them were an exact match to the one they brought with them. So I gave the chap a spanner and said here you go mate help yourself.
"Now" les, the bloke is "well" a bloke so naturally we started to talk motobikes
He then proceded to tell me that when he bought his place there was an old bike in the barn and the vendor said he could have it
Unfortunatly when he completed on the house the bike was no longer there
He was able to retrieve most of it back though, but no frame or tank!
This afternoon my wife and I went over to look at their place and ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
I came home with this
