Rather than filling up L & M's modified T thread, thought it might be an idea to start a new one. This one is very minimal but add some lights etc. and it could be fun

Not a Hot Rod, but a race car. Cast your mind back to 2004 and the Ch4's programme called Salvage Squad. They took a rather special model T that was raced at Brooklands (won the 1912 All-Ford Race at Brooklands) and Saltburn Sands in 1912-13 that was known as the "Golden Ford" due to its brightly-polished brass, streamlined, monoposto body. The original brass body had been replaced by a conventional two-seater way back in the day. The programme got specialist coachbuilder Rod Jolley to expertly recreate the brass body from photographs, after Model T specialist Neil Tuckett had rescued the car's derelict chassis from a barn. I saw this at Goodwood in 2004 & 2008, and it looked soooooo good.

Very nice. Think I'd stretch the definition of hot rod to include that. Think of all the Brasso you'd get through.

Yup, it had raced there 'back in the day' as well apparently ,how 'kewel' is that ?
My pile of parts is growing quickly , may have to make a start shortly. Won't be building a hotrod or any other pigeonholed style. Just sticking something fun together with a retro / race car feel about it. That way everyone can get to moan about it and no one will feel left out because it actually fits their criteria to be a ...
In fact I was thinking, when someone asks me what it is I'll simply reply ..." FUN!"

Nice idea Kev. Think you have just named it. Some folk get very hung up on what is a "hot rod" or "custom" or whatever. My attitude is, if you build it you can call it whatever you want.
