looking around it seems the daimler v8 hemi seems scarce but the rover v8 is in abundance. the rover seems the one people go for but in a 50's 60's motor i think dumping the hemi in would be more of a period thing. whats the difference in the power output of them. maybe this should be in the techy section

3 1/2 litre Rovers are 150bhp I believe. They're aluminium, so fairly lightweight & physically quite small, plus, as you say, still plentiful, so are the V8 of choice for most Brit rodders -including me. Not sure of the Daimler's output or what variations were available.

The rover V8 came in quite a few different configurations and states of tune over the years and quite a range of cc's. You would have to look up a particular engine to see its expected power output

I bought mine just as an engine & box, not in a car. We hooked it up to a fuel can & battery & it ran quite happily sat on the garage floor.

I was told it's a Rover SD1 bottom end, possibly with Range Rover heads, & may have been raced at some point.

Hello mate. Nice to see you again.  Wink
Going to be a while before we need it, as we're going to run with the Reliant fuel tank in my Ford Pop to get it through the registration test, then swap to the Pop tank later -which is the one we need the sight glass for. Certainly won't turn it down though. Thank you.
I'll PM you my address. Let me know how much I owe you please.
