What Dutton you got Spanners?

hi,, rod they are both dutton ,melos,,s     both registered correctly but on the old system before Q,plate,,

so one is on an old G plate =tax exempt

and the other which is part way through a body off rebuild  is reg,d as 11## TF which i have been told could be worth alot of ,dosh, to M.G. owners

both need some work but the G,reg (green one) is almost done complete with a totally reconditioned 1300cc crossflow all brand new suspenion bush,s  brand new brake,s inc brand new not recon front calipers rear cylinders shoes, pads, pipe,s,, etc   new clutch ,, new nikkie carb the list go,s on and on just want dash ,,screen (or aero screens) fitting and h,brake lever and seats fitting (all parts ate with it )

the othet  11## TF is down to a chassis with rear axle and suspension fitted most of front suspension is there    ( i was going to modify the front suspension)  reconed 1600cc crossflow engine and box part fitted body is 99% complete (hung from shed rafters at the mo)

both have had loads of money spent   gonna have to do something with them soon  i was going to keep at least one of them but the way things are it looks like they will have to go  :( :( :( :(

Sound good! The Duttons have always taken a lot of bad press(s'pose it doesnt help when there are law suits and bancruptcies against them every now and then ::)But I think they are ok ,easy to work on ,being mainly Ford stuff, and basic.  Im car less at present and while looking for a new vehicle, funnily enough I came across a Melos for sale the other day. Got the Detling Kit car show soon,so will have a look there.

I have what looks like an identical pillar drill - spooky! - Mine needs a twist of the chuck to get it going and has a mains switch to start it - It's made by Warco.

I may be interested in the Lathe, is it single phase and what state is it in ?

Cheers

Andy

As far as I can see there isn't one, the mains goes straight to the motor via a normal domestic light switch. Where does the capacitor go, and what value is it ?

You really have to go to get an idea of what is there Andy, don't forget Mike has been working through getting rid of stuff for months now. I have never seen as much stuff outside of going to an old fashioned scrap merchants and then you wouldn't have had what Mike had :)

If you happen to find a nice small Myford in amongst it Mike give us a shout :)

What not just pick a Sunday, when F1 isn't on the telly, with a very brief description? Eg, loads of car bits and tools and other useful stuff plus house contents. You buy it you take it the same day? or maybe a weekend to give everyone a fair shout. Must be easier than people like me saying do you have an RV8 clutch or gearbox, do you have any seats, do you have a cluth and brake master cyliner etc. Just thing how much you could shift in one day. Just a thought.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/280908885384?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649

Put your cursor on this box, left click on box,the box should turn blue, leave cursor on the blue box and right click a box will drop down right click copy, come back here to your thread left click then right click,
you will see drop down box, left click on past job done.this may all sound complicated but it's not,
