shock horror its down to 2 vehicles, both air cooled engines, both at different ends!!!!

2cv or beetle.

never owned either.

think the beetle has been done lots, but not seen many snails about, the only problem is, is that prices are rising like no tomorrow!!!!

There's some nice 2cv based 'rods' about , they are chassied as well so no reg worries with cutting them up .Like you say getting dearer for a decent one. However there's nothing quite so disheartening as spending months welding something back together before you actually start on the enjoyable bit.

does anybody know anything about BMW R series flat twin motorcycle engines? as a kit is available to fit to 2cv gearbox.
they've even tested it on track.

mustang sold, bought a cheap daily runabout, hopefully going to look at a classic motor tomorrow, was expecting to get a project, but this is on the road!!! rather excited considering i've owned 2 of these before!!!
