Machined several years ago for me ...possibly by Doc?
Replaces the original pressed tin jobbie. Luvverly knurled aluminium with a recessed rubber O ring & angled vent pipe spigot.
Yours for just 10 Earth pounds, plus postage.

Should I mention I had a matching knurled knob made for the dipstick on my trike? (went with the trike when I sold it last week).
Oh, & a knurled knob to operate the choke too. Could be a whole new business for you Doc, making custom Reliant parts!

Maybe I'll have to uncover the Drummond coz I sure as hell 'aint making all if this in work, it would take me months (I only get half hour lunch)

I'll see what I can do to make sets of parts but atm the breathers are looking to be about £20 each, and probably a fiver for each of the other parts.

When I get the original from Andy I will see how long the breather will take to make.

I only have straight knurls not the cross hatch seen below but I could purchase one if you'd rather have that.

There is also a gauze in the bottom of the original I think which you will have to fit yourselves.

The choke knob was a short knurled round bar that bolted directly to the choke lifting arm on the side of the SU carb.
I remember the dipstick knob was pinned to the end of the dipstick with a small stainless pin & required the original plastic T handle cutting off. Can't remember how the dipstick itself fitted into the knob though. May have been a round hole, rather than a slot, probably sealed with something like Araldite glue once pinned in place.
I'll try & see my trike's new owner tomorrow & grab some close up pics. As the trike's still unfinished I might be able to borrow them & post them to you Doc.

Metal ordered today should take about a week to be delivered.

Breather modeled in Solidworks 3D, took about 10 mins to draw.

better off getting that off someone else, its a little tight on mine, but thats because im not using a reliant cover, mines a Bond,
i remember there being a difference, but i haven't a reliant cover to measure against

Some snaps emailed to me by Bob, the new owner of my Reliant trike.
The engine was in my previous trike, so these parts have seen 4 or 5 years road service.
I think the dipstick originally had 2 small rubber O rings on it. It's attached to the shaft with 2 small steel pins.
The choke knob just bolts directly to the operating arm on the side of the carb, allowing manual lifting, rather than the original cable operated set-up.

Other carb mods include the removal of the heated inlet manifold, (I cut the hot water inlet bit off the casting & smoothed it off), a stainless throttle cable bracket & a specially machined neck to take a clamp-on foam air filter.
The test tube type thing on the frame is a cylindrical tax disc holder.

Thanks for that but will still need size of dipstick hole and what size bolt needed to fix choke knob.

Andy did you extend the inlet manifold so the carb would clear the tank ???????

I think the inlet manifold extensions are part of the custom exhaust manifold.  Andy will correct me if i'm wrong (often am).

I bought a 4 into 1 exhaust manifold from a guy called Tim Holt on Ebay

It came with inlet manifold extensions already welded to it, (the exhaust & inlet tubing's welded to a single plate that bolts to the cylinder head).
So yes, they were extended, but not by me. My last trike used a standard Reliant cast steel exhaust manifold & homemade inlet extensions, which were just short lengths of tube, welded side by side in pairs, with an end plate on each end.

The guy who now owns my trike says the knurled choke knob is drilled & tapped to M5 Doc.

Metal arrived yesterday after some confusion at work (it was sent back to the suppliers twice).

Due to my work load will hope to start these in the new year, will prep and do rough cuts on the Drummond at home over Xmas and finish off on the jet lathe at work.

twisted is you still doing them in single knurl or double didn't realise how many you going to do.

A little, not been able to shift the lathe so missed buying the better one.

First Oil filler bung is nearly complete but will need some one to test fit it, as i don't have a rocker cover here to try it in and I know it will need an o ring fitted.

Any volunteers?

I could try it, or I could send you a rocker cover providing you can return it

OK Merv will stick it in the post when I've finished will need to know how tight it is in the tube.

yeah its no problem i was only playing mine has a 30mm hole right up to the top so did not turn the top down but i can do
it however you like a spike top piston style top ribbed knurling etc
i can make the top smaller like page one no bother

but needs to come level with top as page one you doing full set for us or just oil bung
