So there we are. 4 frame jigs, 3 tube benders etc etc, and i have to have my frame built out of house. Mainly because our box jigs are for making compact classic british frames not high headstock long rigids.
so the basic frame was made by a very good friend of mine "malcolm sheperdson" who owns metal malarkey.
http://www.malarkeyengineering.co.uk/Engine choice yamaha 850 tdm 360 degree crank.was tetermined by the fact i had one, i've not seen one used for this job (probably see loads now i've started) the engine is compact being dry sump. and it's a good torquey lump that used to pull me to 120 on a good day (hardtail will stop me doing that to often) the engine has been tilted back 10 degrees..
i wanted to use 41mm forks 12" over based on hd. so the frame has a 40 degree rake, the yokes a 5 degree rake giving me a 45 degree rake and the trail will be 110mm so although u turns will be a thing of the past it should handle errr okay...ish.
i need 3.5 litres of oil capacity which i was going to get by sectioning the tank and making the the rear of it the oil tank. but not sure now. i will have to use a fuel pump probably. and although i need the rad capacity i want a different sized rad. as the standard one is wide but not high.
oh well let the late nights commence.
