put it this way

if you put youre  digits /fingers in a household plug socket  it will more than likely kill you ==240 volt single phase

if you put youre digits /fingers in an industrial (BIG) plug socket  youlle never do it again,,,, youlle be dead ====415 volt 3 phase

It's now sold....

What it does..... Well it produces a momentary three phase electrical supply form a househols power supply in order to start a three phase motor.

It then drops to single phase to run the motor on only two of it's three windings.  Wink
