I'm still amazed at how many people quote this machine as the one that inspired them to build thier first trike, or their idea of the perfect Reliant trike etc. Seems to have found it's way into the conciousness of a sizeable chunk of the 3 wheeled population. It's the one most often described as being built in the "Manky" style.
"Flap", (my old workmate Darren), & I put this together quite a few years ago now. He'd never ridden a bike or trike before but enjoyed tinkering with vehicles &, after riding pillion on my own trike a few times, decided he must have one of his own. Since then it's gone on to be a Back Street Heroes magazine feature bike & multiple trophy winner.
Darren changed jobs & joined the Territorial Army & found he had less & less time for riding. Eventually the Flapster came to Lunatic's workshop, where I'm building my truck project, for a bit of a tidy up & some new mudguards. It's been there ever since.
Probably hasn't been ridden for 2 years now. It needs a damn good spruce up, the brakes unseizing & a fresh MOT & it's ready to roll.
Darren's recently taken a big drop in wages at work, plus his wife's just been made redundant, so, sadly, the ol' girl's gotta go -the trike, not Mrs Flap. I think.
Flap hasn't got a computer at the moment, so if you'd like to give the orange 'un a new, loving home, talk to him on 07747-021642, or PM/email myself or Lunatic. Loony may be able to respray the paintwork or undertake MOT work for a sensible price.

Grin Probably cost the extra 3 thousand to ship it!
He made a start on some rear mudguards, but never finished them. The part-made brackets & rolled aluminium guards will be included.

Yeah, foot clutch, but everything's adaptable with a bit of lateral thinking, as the gentlemen here are constantly proving.

You could probably fit a hydraulic clutch lever on the handle bars.but the gear lever and changing gear then would be a problem

is it disc or drum on rear ? do you surpose the back break could go  on bars and clutch on right foot

All 3 brakes are linked to the right pedal at the moment with clutch pedal on the left. No levers on the bars.
I've used a master cylinder/slave cylinder set-up on my own trike build to give a softer, smoother pedal action. The pedal pushes into a Girling master cylinder with a short hydraulic hose connected to a Leyland Mini type slave cylinder mounted behind the Reliant clutch arm -when you press the pedal the fluid travels down the hose to push the slave cylinder piston, which pushes the clutch arm forward. No reason why that couldn't be mounted on the right side.
I'm guessing there must be a way of cable operating a master cylinder for the back brakes, (they're discs), so you could mount a lever on the bars. Check the kit car parts suppliers -they sell all sorts of useful linkages, cylinders etc. Could keep all 3 brakes linked together or use another lever on the other side of the bars for the front brake, normal bike style.
