LIAM’S 305 GPZ SCOOTER.
I’ve seen this wee beastie several times at a local bike meet & instantly liked it’s overall stance. It’s a no nonsense road bike, obviously built to be ridden hard & just looks such a tough little bugger!
Liam, it’s current owner, didn’t build it, but is drawing inspiration from it to put together a new, improved, mark 2 version, which is already well underway.
So what have we got here then?

Well, basically, it’s a Kawasaki 305 GPZ engine, shoe-horned into a Lambretta scooter frame, but there’s a little more to it than that.
The front half of the frame originally graced a GP “Lamby”, as did the cut-down leg shields, horn panel, headset & mudguard.
Decent handling & disc braking come from a Peugeot

Paioli scooter fork & wheel assembly, while at the back, a Mini car wheel has been adapted to take the Kwacka belt drive hub. The side panels are home-made while a GSXR pillion seat sits above a one-off rear mounted fuel tank. The rear light first saw service on a Yamaha DT125.
The engine’s basically standard, other than a high flow pulse fuel pump, running off the crankcase pressure, plus modified air filters & exhaust.
Liam reports a top speed so far of around 90mph.
Beneath the matt black paint, there’s some clever ideas here & Liam’s Lamby’s just as much a full blown custom bike as any megabuck show machine.
I like it a lot & can’t wait to see the mark 2 version.
Thanks Liam.
