Hi Flap, you got me thinking, so I've done some research and apparently models after 1980 (between 1970 and 1979) when in reverse go backwards and forwards not up and down as in previous models (1970 to 1986)

Hope I haven't confused anybody Embarrassed

Are you for real??

How can it possibly be 69 when originally it started off as 42. It would only ever be 69 if the speed ever reached 78 kph which for you numptys equates to 15 mph. As 78 kph is a totally impossible speed to reach  when the right side goes right way round and the left side goes left way round the up and down motion would flucuate by at least 17 degrees. I for one would definately not like to ride something with that much play. The answer is simple really, just turn the whole lot inside out that way the up and down movement turns into a vertical/horizontal movement and therefore the cuckoo will show every hour on the hour.
Believe me, I have done it this way hundreds of times and always with the same result. If you need anymore technical info please feel free to drop a line.

Sinner, I know it's an old thread but are your 1100 Magna instruments the same as my 750 Sabre ones? Huge electronic console on the top yoke with all sorts of sensors & stuff, plus a 2nd unit with a trip computer thingy in it?
If so, I've taken them off my Sabre & will be flogging 'em on Ebay sometime soon. Working order as far as I know. Yours for free if you want to cover the postage to OZ, or I can deliver them to your relatives here in Blighty.
