Amazing how the smallest injuries can cause so much upset isn't it.
I'm constantly cutting or burning my hands, messing about with motors. As you say, the smallest actions can suddenly become super painful.
Get well soon Sir.

a few years ago i cut the end's off several of my fingers, got them reattached but had to go to hospital every day for 4 weeks to have the dressing's changed. depended on lifts as wasn't allowed to drive and the hospital's 35 mile's away. anyway as a tip i put my hand in a freezer bag and taped it up with insulating tape to wash and have a shower, worked well. still have no feeling in 2 of my fingers though

If it happened at work, did it go in tjhe accident book?  If not I suggest you make a special trip in to work to make sure that it goes in there - that should stop them hassling you!

i had the index middle and ring finger "degloved" (where the flesh is pulled off the bone without damaging the bone) in a workplace incident.
they put the index and ring back on but my "social finger" is down below the nail

I don't know what riddor is but I would have thought that something that serious should be investigated!

Doesn't look like they need to report it then - but they should understand that you have an injury that prevents you from being at work!
