Sorry to hear it's up for sale. Just as you were getting to use it  Sad Sad
I'm lucky that my neighbours actually take a positive interest . Thirty years here, working on, or restoring vehicles and never a problem. When I finished the MGB, its first outing had to be, to take an eighty year old neighbour out as she liked it so much.

this may be of use http://noiseabatementsociety.com/helpline-and-support/faqs/
I realise this is a website who are anti noise but they do say there is no legislation on diy noise so its diy car repairs just use common sense about the times you choose to tinker

It's not as if you're running a repair shop after all!  (well not for other people!)

Tell them to cough, my old man tried for over 10 years to stop someone who WAS running a business from home and was grinding and hammering up to midnight. Your car in your name, noise only between 8am -10pm no environmental health issues they can go swivel.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a neighbour from hell and always keep my neighbours informed and 'on side' wherever possible. and think about what I'm doing However some will whinge if you eat too loudly, live and let live.
