Er not sure what’s what. Made a guide tube fir the bonnet cable so it routes a bit better. Also had my steering connector come so treated myself to a moon wheel. Also in the package was a shaft support so now the column isn’t twisting, but the uj is topping out. Just need to get some more DD shaft and make the first bit longer to relieve the angle and it’ll be all good.

Angled photos help. It will be nice to get the proper backs back on as it looks daft on those skinny’s.

Been trying to sort the steering out. One of the uj’s was topping out on rotation, so I got some DD and put a full length in the bottom to reduce the angle. This worked, but also highlighted the steering box wasn’t straight, so that came off and got relined up. Unfortunately not level, but I can sort that at a later when the front end is off.

By extending the bottom it’s made the actual steering column really short, the 2 pics below are before and after. I’ll get the steering boss welded nicely / stronger than I trust myself next week and that should be sorted. I think it might need to come up a bit, but I can do that by chopping a bit out of the steering support.

I also had to cut into the under dash to route the new DD join, so have started to do a bulge to go back in and allow it to spin. I’ve left the top off to try and make a removal piece so you can get to the UJ from above as I was fed up of being upside down in the footwell.

I'm assuming that column needs shortening? Smiley

Grin I thought you were going to drive it like those little old ladies you see, with the seat shoved all the way forward, hugging the wheel to their chests.

Nah no way. A friend tigged the column for me, so now the steering is on properly. It was twisting a bit still, so I’ve put the other column bearing in place and it’s stopped it doing that.

I also made up a removable piece to go over the UJ which has made fitting the column a lot easier.
