I have heard there is a website somewhere that can tell me the size of my engine from the engine number.
Can anyone tell me what this website is please?

As far as I am aware with reliants it is in the engine number. Can double check tonight when I get home but I think its a letter then on mine 85/more numbers and it is an 850

The re-built one I have just aquired has - 6A / 85 / 29932  stamped on it.

the second section of the engine numbrer is the engine size (so 85) yours is 850 the first numbers is year and the letter is month

Cheers Thanks!   Smiley  my previous engine had the 3 lines down one side so i knew that was the 850E.
hopefully get this one back together tonight and get some milage without clouds of smoke!!  lol

i think the letter 8 was stamped on 750 engines between 1973 and 1975 this looks like its a feb 1974 engine
