I love this Moggy. Me too. Chris has worked hard on this. Well he makes a lot of noise with the angle grinder The 4 speed is supposedly stronger but the 5 is much nicer and more usable, so a wise decision. Is he going to change the oil seals ? The 4speed box from the p6 is worth a small fortune if second gear is intact, shove it on ebay and watch the pound signs appear

I think it's a set of casings & a big pile of cogs now. Loony's Dad, Dave, has just bought these springers from a local VW trike owner, to replace the teles on his own VW. Roughly 8" over, (8" longer than standard forks). They're currently powder-coated silver, but the plan is to paint the rear legs in candy apple red to match Dave's trike paintjob & chrome the fronts & the springs. Modelled here by my beautiful photographic assistant, Mr Loon.

And tried against Archie's bike to give some idea of scale. Yup, forget the trike, bung 'em on the bike.

Them forks look bent to me. Reckon they have hit a stationary object at some point. Check them carefully below the bottom yoke on the rear legs.

Hi Iain. Yup, been commented on by everyone who's seen 'em, so will be sorted before they're ever used.

Dave, (Loony Senior)'s been looking at the forks today & attempting to straighten them, using the flat bed of his mill as a guide. No way they're gonna straighten without some heat though, so that's the next step. Meanwhile, Chris is working on the exhausts for his Moggy Minor. He's bought a selection of stainless steel bends & has resurrected my old MIG welder, which still has a small reel of stainless wire in it. Using the new version of Pop Brown's manifold flanges, (sold in linked pairs rather than single flanges like mine), he's building up the headers on one of my spare cylinder heads. Clearance between the exhausts & the chassis & steering column UJs is tight, so it needs custom built headers instead of off-the-shelf "block huggers". He plans to wrap them in exhaust bandage, but personally I think once the welds are cleaned up, they'll be too nice for that.

Morris Minor wheel fitted to re-drilled Reliant Scimitar hub. Chris is still looking for at least one Moggy wheel. Experimental black & white killer whale paint scheme replaced with plain satin black.

Water hoses fitted etc. Original radiator re-cored to cope with the V8 courtesy of Mr Kapri's contacts in the trade.
