I saw that and nearly bid on it for possible future use but storage is a problem. Glad it's gone to a good home. There was also a pair of doors

For a minute there I thought you said you'd purchased a complete pair of Y fronts.
Was that from the guy who seemed to be selling a complete Model Y in pieces?
Chris's Moggy with the bonnet fitted. Knowing how tiny the original motor was in my old Moggies, (no bigger than a Reliant), I'm amazed you can shoe-horn a V8 in there & still shut the lid.

Yes but with the old Moggie (I had one as my second car, very posh after the Pop) you could get in the engine bay alongside the engine. Infact you could probably get one person each side! |

The reason the engine bay is so "roomy" is that the post war saloon body was to have had a completely new flat 4 motor,purpose designed and built for this then new model, but whether the company ran out of cash or time, or both! to achieve that, I don't know, but as you all know, they ended up using what was available, the little pre-war side valve motor, as used in the Morris 8, and then on to the two OHV motors later, so hence all the room! well that's the story I was told many years ago, and it seems to fit!! so..... |

my interpretation would use a 4 door shell.. sit in the back seat, weld up the front doors and run a blown Jag straight 6...
