Contemplating lifting the body back on. At this point it was actually almost pitch black, so Tom, Chris, Loony & I were working by the headlights of Chris's truck.

Body propped in place & rolled back into the 'shop. I headed for home then, but Chris planned to work on for a while, so I've no doubt it'll be almost finished by tomorrow!

Arty workshop shot. My Pop pick-up & Chris's split screen Morris Minor saloon, both running 3 1/2 litre Rover V8s. Mine's an auto. His is a manual.

Am I missing something Andy, why is it called a split screen, looks like it takes a single bit of glass?

So doesn't that just make it a normal Morris Minor or are there other differences?

Yeah, there's a slight peak in the centre of the roofline above the screen & a corresponding one on the scuttle panel below the screen, (you can see the top one in the last 2 photos, as the light shines across it). Rather than a one piece curved glass screen, it's two seperate pieces of flat glass with a centre glazing bar between them.

Ah right that makes sense. Seemed storage if you were making what I assume is a rarer two screen into a more common single. Thought you had cut a centre bare out and done away with it

"Storage"? I assume you mean sacrilege? Chris wants to keep the car looking as original as possible so all standard trim will be going back on. A couple of shots from this afternoon. The body needs to sit a tad further forward to centralise the wheels in the arches, but very nearly there. There was no chance of the bonnet being cut about, but fortunately it clears the twin SU carbs by about 3 inches. The box section frame behind the engine is just part of the temporaray bracing for the bodywork. The wheel arches may need their outer lips rolling very slightly, (flaring to cover the tyre tread), but I'm amazed how well this all sits. Everything seems to drop into place quite nicely.

"1.Eleven" sprayed on the wing is Loony's business name, 1.Eleven Customs.
