Drastically lowered VW Caddy pick-up, in to have a body kit fitted, (new wheel arches & front spoiler), then a re-spray in beige.

Chris's newly acquired V6 Reliant Scimitar. He's stripping it to salvage the chassis, which he plans to sit under a V8 engined Morris Minor. The engine will be up for sale & the body's being scrapped, so speak up quick if you want anything off it.

I was in the RSSOC (Reliant Scimitar and Sabre Owners Club) in the early 1980s as had a SE6.

Ever since I was a wee lad in short trousers at primary school back in 1968, I knew I wanted a Scimitar from the day I saw the first pictures of the SE5a (the car in the photo) in a copy of CCC.

CCC = Cars and Car Conversions magazine - the mag at the time for actually doing things and way before Custom Car and many of the others hit the shelves. In fact I used to save my pocket money and buy Hot Rod (an American Magazine) as it had cool Hot Rod (doh!) stuff in it.

Back to the plot...... Was tempted to buy a Lancia HPE2000 as couldn't afford a Scimitar, but eventually got my SE6 after weighing up the virtues of the SE5 Vs SE6 .........
So why didn't I keep it?  - had to sell it when split up as had to sort the mortgage etc - ended up with a Ford Escort 1.6 (yay!!)

So, if any of you have had a dream car from when you were in primary school and kept the dream alive until you could afford it 15 years later, just imagine seeing it being cut to pieces............ makes me a sad bunny......  Cry

Wouldn't surprise me if body shell wouldn't have made a few quid, unless it has 'tin worm' !! Wink

Nothing to do with me Tony -I haven't touched it, honest. I know it seems a shame, but this one was pretty much beyond saving I'm afraid. The fibreglass had started to de-laminate after being stood, untouched, in a garden for several years.

Scottie the hotrod haulier's found a buyer for the V6 engine & gearbox, & has arranged to collect it tomorrow. So Chris & Loony had to spend the afternoon taking the Skimmytar down to chassis level & hoiking the motor out. The money from the engine & box covers the cost of the car & Scottie's recovery fee, with a little change left over. So Chris has basically got a new chassis, suspension & steering for his V8 Moggy Minor project for free.
