What's a happenin' down at the yard?
Just business as usual at the moment. The Volksrod's back in for a final coat of paint -the owner took it to a show on a trailer & managed to damage the paint on several panels. Mr Loon's decided it's easier to cut the lot back & blow it over again, rather than mask up individual panels.
There's also a VW Caddy pick-up in for some bodywork repairs, & a few other odds & ends.
Chris is experimenting with flywheels & clutches for his Moggy Minor. Not quite sure, but I think he's mating a Rover P6 manual gearbox to an SD1 engine.
And I'm tracking down the cause of the bent pushrods in my Pop engine. I've also filed back the welds on one of my bike exhausts, ready to refit to make a hanging bracket.

Still cleaning up my XS650 Yam' exhausts.
I bought another motor yesterday. Picked it up on Ebay for 250 quid, (usually sell for around the 400 quid mark). Just got it on spec, for spares or whatever, but Mr Loon has expressed an interest in it. So the workshop XS groovy gang could soon have another member, (already 2 there, Tom's & mine, plus Archie's in another workshop a couple of miles away).
Unfortunately it was in Liverpool & collection only. So I nipped up there after work yesterday -4 hours driving each way & 30 quids worth of diesel. Got home at half past midnight. Good job I enjoy road trips.

Tom's XS650, mine & Loony's Triumph Speed Triple. Used to be mine & has been at the workshop for a couple of years now, waiting for Loony to pass his bike test. Sell the Triumph, pay for your test & use the change to build the XS mate.  Wink

The Volksrod, rubbed down & ready for a respray. It normally rolls on very expensive tall, skinny BBS wheels & crossply tyres.

Yeah, I can see the attraction, though the whole V Dub scene doesn't really do it for me. Maybe a similar stance but Morris Minor instead of VW?
Loony, Chris & I were at the workshop this afternoon when Big Darren & Al called in for a chat & a cold drink on their way to the local evening bike meet. As we were all stood outside in the sunshine Al noticed we seemed to have suffered a collective sartorial faux pas. We looked down & realised all 5 of us were resplendant in black MMMotors T shirts! Damn that brand has a good sales manager!  Smiley
