Talking of chopped Pops, here's my old one, "Poppilac". 8.2 litre caddy with nitrous.

Hmm, interesting. I've just been given one of those motors -for free. 8.2 litre big block Chevy with all ancillaries & 4 barrel Holley. Came out of a Masseratti but same units they used in the Lincoln Continentals. No gearbox but I'm told the Jag one may well do the job. Decisions, decisions. Fibreglass bodied ratrod that weighs about 6 ounces with 4 litre Jag straight 6 & triple 40mm Webbers, or ratrod with 8.2 litre V8 Chevy?

Lincolns were Ford, mine had a 7.6 litre big block. I'm not sure if Caddilac were GM??? But when the Americans say Big Block, they're not exaggerating, they're HUGE! I love them. The Lincoln did 25mpg! Are you sure your engine didn't come out of something like a Facel Vega? That's the motherinlaw stood next to it!

Was just what I was told. Still awaiting delivery so not seen it yet. The Jag engine isn't exactly small either. Chevy would be fun but maybe the Jag's more unusual -& got that Brit thing going for it too, rather than trying to copy Yank rod styles. We'll see.

Yeah, would be a shame not to use it after we wrecked the car to take the motor out!
