I have pinched these two pics off the BTW-US forum, and have just emailed the owner for some details, but untill he gets back to me, any idea's on how the drive is done?
Using the beetle back end, there is a bloody great tube stuck in the way of the suzi drive shaft, unless they have cut a chunk out of it.
If it was done in this county, perhaps a sierra diff?

The diff does seem quite high up. Perhaps it clears the tube.

Not very clued up on V Dub drives. Lunatic or Triker Pete would be the ones to ask. Looks more Sierra-like to me but if it's American, could be just about anything couldn't it.

Looks to me something like a sierra type diff job. Judging by the angle of the driveshafts it has been mounted high enough to get the propshaft from the bike over the tube to the diff.  Hope that helps |

Ah!!!! The Yam. It's coming along. Fitted the servo + master cylinder and part of the rear brake mechanism. Also made up the brake hoses/lines for the rear.
Been fitting some double glazing and plastering for the couple next door so not had as much time but got back to it today. Will hopefully be ready to go for powder coating next week sometime.
Loads and loads to do!!!!!!!
Glad your gonna get yours on the move again. How long do think it will take to get back on the road.

When I took it off the road I said it'd only take a few weeks to knock up a new frame & hang all the old bits back on it -that was about a year & a half ago! Dunno why, just life in general getting in the way all the time. There's really only a week or two's worth of afternoons to make & fit all the mounting tabs, footpegs etc, then I've got to find someone to fabricate an electrics box for me, (biggest problem for me is a lack of materials to make stuff from), make a prop, mudguards etc. Once it's done I've got to MSVA it too. I reckon it's gonna be the end of the Summer now before it's back on the road, but I'm not planning on ever changing it again so worth taking the time to get it right.
