Knew I had some pictures of this somewhere, They are pictures of photographs ('cos I couldn't be arsed to scan them. This is the same engine that would have come in a Hemi 'Cuda, weighs in at 426 cu in, thats around about 7 litres in new money!!
Took this at the 2002 California Hot Rod Reunion..........................

Only guessing here, but could be a really easy answer of fitting the damn things in a small space, also lets the front carbs stand a bit more chance of getting 'cool' air. Seen some other double-Triumphs inclined like that, and others with both engines in the normal vertical position, or maybe to make it look like a Vee four ?  (told you I was guessing..) |
