Victory Wheelers - Hayling Island 6th Annual Reunion

This year we are pleased to invite you to the Hayling Island Reunion, for a chilled out day by the sea! Please bring your Rods, Kustom, Rat Rod, Chop or Bobber to add to the atmosphere.

We have a new location!
...
It became clear to us that holding the show in its former home was going to prove difficult this year. We have scoured the Island and can now announce that this year’s show will be at Funland Amusement Park, on the seafront.
(It's close to our previous place, we didnt want to move to far!!)

Funland Amusement is open until 9.30pm so there will be plenty of time to enjoy the rides and have a great day out. We have negotiated discounts which allow the purchase of an All Rides, All Day Wristbands for £8.00 per person.

Free parking is available for the first 100 cars to arrive, and then the public car parks are available at £2.50 for the day. Hot food will be available from the Funland outlets and Music will be provided at various times throughout the day. Trophies will be presented at around 2pm.

We hope you will have a fantastic time at this exciting new location.

The good news was, it didn't rain and it wasn't too windy!

Chevy Rick, Alfie and I got there about 2 hours before the doors officially opened but we were soon followed in by many more vehicles.

I think the new venue will take getting used to but it has a lot more going for it for families attending the event. Not just because of the funfair but also the cafes and the amenities. Would have been nice to have some grass to picnic on as it was either dusty stones, sand or concrete. Of course, you had the beach but you couldn't see much from there.

There was a good turn out of vehicles but we will probably find out how it compared to previous years at the Victory Wheelers' meeting on Wednesday.

I had a good day but I was so tired after the Beaulieu Autojumble on the Saturday, that I only looked around the vehicles a couple of times and spent most of the time sitting by the tailgate of the Silverado chatting. I enjoy that aspect of these events though and I chatted with lots of interesting people. Alfie is such a draw. People come to say hello to him really and I just benefit from his popularity!  Roll Eyes

The Austin Devon featured in this month's Custom Car was there. Very tasty. There were some lovely Buicks there too, many of them parked together in the second car park. I really liked a Plymouth (Roadrunner?) which looked very nice and sounded gorgeous. The owners had travelled from Gatwick.

A good day, but few little issues to iron out before next year but that is to be expected in a new venue.
