Drag racing back in '64 & '65 was just getting off the ground in the UK, and the Yanks were invited over to help get the party going. In '65 the Captain was Tony Nancy, and amongst the machines to cross the pond was this splendiferous double-engined Triumph motorcycle, and is up for grabs. The photos show the bike and the info boards tell the story. Quite a machine and rider. now where can I find a spare $30,000.................................... http://www.spudsgarage.com/vehicles/2Timer/index.htmDick Rios "Two Timer" Triumph - 1965 Top Fuel Drag Bike

To the best of my knowledge, back in ’65 John Hobbs was on a Bantam! The Hobbitt making its debut in 1972, a full 7 years after the ’65 Dragfest (good at maths me!). I was lucky enough to see it run in the 70’s, and I believe he brought it out to this years Festival of 1000 Bikes (someone will put me right if I’ve got that wrong). There were a few double engined bikes around in the 60s & 70’s, and I guess 80’s too, and the links below will give an idea of at least some of them. In fact there were the occasional triple-engined monsters too, the late Paul Rose chose 3 GT750 Suzuki kettles. Was fortunate to have met Paul a few times, a character and a half. I seem to remember a machine with 3 Kawasaki 2-stroke triples as well. Twofaced is a UK bike, and when it runs, it can smoke the tyre for the best part (if not all) of the 1/4. http://www.twofaced.f9.co.uk/twofaced.html http://www.thefang.co.uk/multi_eng.htm http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=3&t=246310

Hello Hunter, as a junior member, I’d be interested to know the story behind the cups, care to elaborate?
Believe my first drag meeting was in ’69 at Blackbushe (spectating that is…. only just out of short trousers!).
