JJ and I attended a show and autojumble at the Queen Elizabeth Country Park near Petersfield today.  We hadn't been before so thought it would make a good day out especially with the lovely weather that was forecast.

The event was organised by the South Hants Vehicle Preservation Society. Over 250 cars, commercials, motorcycles and military vehicles of all shapes, sizes and makes dating from 1903 to 1986 were billed as attending and I think they were all there.  There were also plenty of stalls - mainly jumbly (we think they easily equalled Popham) - and we spent a good part of our day taking a good look and finding some good bargains.  Most stalls seemed to price their goods with a view to sell - surprisingly, you don't always find that  Huh.  There were plenty of refreshments including the bar and field kitchen provided by Deadly Derek and his family.  There was also a brass band, a fairground organ, a punch and judy and a children’s roundabout and bouncy castle.  It was a really well organised event - reasonably priced (£4) and well attended by both exhibitors and the general public.  We would definitely go again.

We bumped into many familiar faces and got to chat to lots of others who were quite taken with Alfie (but what's new?) and all in all we had a lovely day.  I hope you enjoy the photos and if you haven't been to this event, hopefully they will give you a good feel for it.  Disk will be in the post Andy.

Just a partial view of the park location:

I've driven past the venue & seen the posters advertising the event several times in the last couple of years but never been -looks like another nice one.
Not Derek's usual black burger trailer. A bar this time. We really must get down to his place & photograph his truck soon -as we said we would about 6 months ago.
I await your disc with interest Rick.  Smiley

Nice pics. Not too sure that an Austin Maestro is a classic car though xD

I've owned 2 Maestros & loved 'em. Probably getting on for 20 years old now. In a few more years they'll all have disappeared & the few remaining ones will be collector's items.  Smiley

I had a Maestro too and it was such a good car - very reliable.  It was my main car for many years and then it was used as a second car for a long time but eventually it had stood too long in not the best of conditions and in the end it was more like a greenhouse than a car and it was scrapped.  My nephew came to pick it up to take it to the scrap yard and when he opened the door he had to wait for the water level to subside.  Shocked

In regards to the show, I had a lovely time - really enjoyed it all but especially enjoyed looking for bargains on the stalls.  I must write down all the things I need and the exact measurements though because you can almost guarantee I see something I could do with but then I am not sure whether it will be the right fit.  You can waste a lot of money buying things you think will fit.

Hi Neil & Justine we left about 3.30 we parked at the bottom end of the show ground next to the exhibits, i am surprised we didn't come across you both, i thought it would make a change to go in that direction to see a show, other years i have taken the Chevy to Can-Am Oakdale School Poole  Sad but that event for me seems to have lost its way.
