Fuel tank. Yamaha XS650 SE

For Sale.
1980 Yam fuel tank. Just unbolted it from my latest project donor bike. Appears to be leak free & un-dented, but I don't know what's under the paint. Comes with original vacuum fuel tap, hinged lockable cap & key. Measures roughly 21 inches long by 10 at the widest point. Mounts on 2 rubber bungs at the front & a single bolt at the back.
Don't know how many gallons it'll hold, but small enough to make a nice chop or trike tank.
Sensible offers here or by PM please.
I'm looking for a standard Harley Sportster tank, preferably the later screw-in cap type, so happy to swap or barter for one if you've got one.

What's the distance between the rubber bungs Andy? And how wide is the tanks at its widest?

Check the ad for the width Bobbi. I'll check the distance between bungs tomorrow & get back to you.

I used to use these tanks on a lot of my old customs in the 80's as I used to prefer the shape and fuel capacity to the Sportster tanks....Voodoo...

A bit of a late comment, but did the XS tank get sold, or do you still have it?
Cheers

Hi Tony,
it got passed on to PD for a future project. He could well be persuaded to part with it though if you desperately need one. I've PM'd you his contact details, (Basingstoke, Hants). Tell him we sent you!
