So do I, to be honest.
The idea was to have something to run around on and save me petrol on short trips in the car.
If I triked it I would be stuck in traffic with the rest.

I always find my trikes are nippier than most cars so when a gap appears in the traffic I can jump in it before the 4 wheelers, plus being out in the elements, you're more switched on to what's happening around you traffic wise.
My vote goes to the chop.  Smiley

Me too.
There will be less work to chop it, although I still have to extend the driveshaft and convert itto 12 volt.

Ta.
I have been playing with converting it to 12 volts.
After different quotes for a new 12volt russian alt, and also looking at modern sports bike units (which I would have a job fitting) I have started to cut the copper winding and big lump of steel off the spindle inside the old dynamo.
What I want to do is to run the old spindle through another bearing at the front of the casing, and have a small universal joint driving a car alt I have here.

Below is a pic of how it should work, and also one of the dynamo winding after I attacked it with a 9 inch disc cutter. I did start off with a hand grinder, as I did not want to damage the spindle, but the grinder could not hack it for some reason.

That's clever. Worth a little techy article of it's own in the bike tech section if you can make it work. I'm impressed by the captioned photo let alone the engineering!

That was quick!
Not really technical, just me being too tight to buy stuff. I will take some pics though.
As for the other pic, it was only done in the paint programe off microsoft, nothing special.

Although I've got my own site I know bugger all about programming & all that other techy stuff. Much to Yodie's despair I'm still almost totally reliant on him to run this for me. I am trying though. Picking up little odds & ends of info here & there. The captions make it look very professional mate. I like it.
Been indoors all day so now I'm off to the garage to do a bit on my own trike.  Smiley

One of the graphics programe's let's you print over a picture without the white box around it. Dunno what it is as we had it & lost it while reformatting.

I'd have to write the captions on little bits of paper & selotape them to the objects!

Goto 'paint' in the accesories section in 'other programes'.
When in Paint, find and open your picture and goto the big letter A in the left hand box.
Then click on the picture where you want the writing, and have a a play with font, size ect.
The only thing to watch for is that the text box will open up in white, and will have to be moved about so it does not cover up what you want to show.

Cheers.Doug

I'll have a play with that over the next couple of days. Could be useful when I'm trying to explain frame builds & stuff. Cheers.
