Todays progress:
Tank stripped (eventually!!!!), filled, and primed (Almost, I ran out of primer!?!?!?!)
Front Wheel stripped and primed!
Angle grinder taken to the frame!

Nothing too drastic, just ground off the rear foot peg mounts, and a couple of spurious leftover bits from the original frame!  Clive's Chopper Build Oh, and managed to start a helmet, just to keep my hand in at the old painting malarky!! As an aside, after seeing the pic of JJ you posted, I'm feeling more and more drawn to building/buying a reliant trike!!!!!!!  If we bump into each other at the Picket Piece show, you can have the tank then! Or pop in on your way, and get it then! Clive |

JJ's was built by a guy called Mick in Kent. He also built the Honda trike Muffin's missus, Michelle's just bought. He just keeps churning them out! Only met him once, but his preferred style seems to be streamlined & panelled in -an ideal canvas for your paint skills?

Today, I have: Primed the tank  Clive's Chopper Build Painted the front wheel  Clive's Chopper Build Started to build the engine/gearbox!!!  Had to stop at this point, as had no jointing compound  Quite pleased with myself for getting this far with it!!  Clive's Chopper Build  Clive's Chopper Build Oh, and finished painting the helmet! Just to prove that painting doesn't need to involve airbrushes, and all sorts of fancy stuff, this was completely done with masking tape, and halfords rattle cans!! Not worried about the shiny finish, as when it's completely dry it's getting flatted, and then a Matt finish clear applied!  Clive's Chopper Build  Clive's Chopper Build Clive |

Got some more done while waiting for the CJ to arrive!! Front Wheel finished  Clive's Chopper Build Tank with first layer of paint on  Clive's Chopper Build Same as the frame  Clive's Chopper Build Engine done  Clive's Chopper Build  Clive's Chopper Build  Clive's Chopper Build and a general shot of the garage for the heck of it (after the CJ arrived!!) So, back to working on this!! Finished the frame with another coat of yellow. Then decided to change the colour scheme slightly. The wheels now gold, and the forks look like this (well, ones done!), (pearlescent white, gold, bronze, and yellow!!) prior to clearcoat. I do like a nice trad' flamejob.
Your painted fork legs are unusual -makes you wonder why no-one else really does it. Worked out well on the cafe racer.
