JJ, Alfie and I went up to Maidenhead to see what we thought of an event that so many had recommended to us. I have to admit, it started off at a disadvantage as the weather was pretty dismal and we spent most of our time in a muddy field with water absolutely cascading off our brollies. That said, I think we would have been disappointed even with brilliant sunshine.
JJ's main gripe was the absence of autojumble. I think there was one stall that actually had some. She did buy a few tools but neither of us spent out much. The majority of the traders were clothing or craft orientated - more like you would find at an agricultural show.
Probably due to the weather (and perhaps being the Saturday) there were very few vehicles on show. The only club stand was Neil and Justine's Hampshire Bygones. Matthew (of portafold.co.uk) had joined them and there was a very good showing of Portafold caravans, one of these had travelled all the way from Nottingham, towed by a plastic pig - Jeremy Clarkson's two pet hates in one fell swoop.
We only met one other Manky and he didn't look very well sitting in his Triumph 2000 (see picture below). He later told us it wasn't him but his missus, who is a size zero!

Overall, this was not a cheap event - nearly £10 each so personally, I expected a lot more for my money. Never mind, unless you find out for yourself, you just don't know.
