got the bike goin yesterday ,i turned out to be coils ,i also fitted it with new leads,problem is ,when i first start her up she is sucking air and i have to leave it for a few mins until it warms up before i can twist the grip.once its warmed up its fine ,it is fitted with K+Nfilters

running lean so needs richening up or one of inlet rubbers is cracked..  thats  were id start.

get a stage 1 dynojet kit not cheap but tha,ll sort that problem out  Wink

first check rubbers on carb inlets for cracks, do this by spraying wd40 around rubbers and if engine note changes it is letting in air and needs repair or replace of inlet rubber/s.

if ok, i would screw in pilot screw 1/4 turn and see if  starts better,checking plug colour is good idea at tickover is good help, u want digestive biccy colour, milky bar colour is lean and bad, choccy covered digestive colour is running rich..  run it for min or two with choke off and check...

also make sure choke is working fully..

ive only got ,rich tea,hob nobs and custard creams in at the moment ,ill check the plugs after ive been shopping,cheers mate,

ok then ,the bike stops sucking air after 2000 rpm,but when i switch it off the is still smoke commin out of the right hand exhaust,and when running it comes out of the right hand pipe more than the left.HELP PLEASE,

i would suggest balancing carbs......  you are moving onto needle above 2000 revs so different mixture setting from pilots...

pilots are the screws that usually go vertical on carbs, usually in a hole under carb behind float bowl.. have it running and screw in quarter/half turn see if it smooths out...
