Can I use the dipped part of my bates headlamp bulbs (which are just a double filament ,non halogen) as front side lights,or do I have to fit side lights either in the h/lamp or seperately? I'm also going to run front marker lights on the mudguards.I think TB mentioned summat about this a while ago.
      Thanks......

You just need a headlight with dipped and main beam + Forward facing marker lights in white. The marker lights must beover 250mm above the ground and no more than 400mm in from the outer edge of the vehicle to the edge of the lense.

Ressurecting this again Roll Eyes Roll Eyes...and also taking in to account my Bates Headlamp previous(old) post.......
I will have 3 switches for the lights.......
Front side lights will be the ones mounted on the 'guards facing forward. Switched to come on with the rear facing side lights.
Main Beam will be a separate switch.
 Dip Beam on another switch.
 1)Will this be ok?
 2) Will I have to have a double pole switch or some other wiring set-up to allow the dips to come on first ,and therefore prevent the mains coming on first? or doesnt the MSVA specify?
       Thanx Monkey Gurus........... Grin

No Requirement regarding type of switch only that it has the required lighting and that it works. You will also need some form of indicator that can be seen from the riding position that informs you of...

Indicators/hazards on/off (if you can see the indicators whilst looking forward that'll do)

Running lights on/off (speedo that illuminates when lights are on will do)

Main Beam
