Our garden is a bit scruffy but very popular with the local wildlife. Maybe we haven't got manicured lawns & perfectly regimented flower beds, but I'd rather have the pleasure of watching the animals feeling confident & safe enough to mooch about in it all afternoon, often coming right up to our back door. We've had squirrels, rabbits, moles, an occasional fox, a deer, ducks, pheasants, jays, woodpeckers, parakeets -even cows on one occasion!
Taz smokes but I don't, so she takes her wireless connection laptop outside & sits at the table on the patio. So she sees the evening wildlife that I often don't. Bats & owls & stuff. Tonight she shared the patio with one of the regulars, Harry the hedgehog. He passes through the flower bed right behind her chair every evening & is partial to the seed, worms & fat nibbles we put out for the birds.

I bought some proper hedgehog food today so have put some down for him but I think he's been and gone as it's still there. We took the photos at 8.45 so tomorrow I'll put it down earlier so he gets it.

What is a 'fat nibble'? Is it like an ordinary nibble but fatter? Grin Grin

We get bats flying around, a Fox wanders in the front garden and Badgers, fortunately the badgers don't come in our garden, they seem to preferr next doors garden which they dig bloody great holes in.
Ther's an owl that often perches? on the tv ariel too.
The bats are fascinating, they are very, very agile, suppose they have to be to catch their prey.
We've got a load of pigeons that perch on our roof every day too. Some are pure white but have been doing 'naughties' with the ordinary ones coz some of the chicks are black and white. I'm sure they're pigeon chicks cos the're too small to be flying Zebra's. Grin Grin

That hedgehog's the noisiest eater I've ever met! We can hear him crunching the food Taz put out for him. He's not exactly stealthy either, stomping about in the flower beds & bumping into things. Kinda cute though.

I once went outside with a torch cos from the noise I thought there were a couple of dogs having a fight in my garden - turned out to be a couple of hedgehogs mating!

I thought maybe the noise level was a result of them NOT doing it carefully!   Grin
